Psychology Teacher - Southend-on-Sea

Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive, in line with MPS/UPS (£28,800-£48,000 per annum, dependent on experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Teacher of Psychology to join a high-achieving secondary setting in the Southend-on-Sea area. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic educator who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students to develop a strong interest and understanding of Psychology.

The successful candidate will teach Psychology across relevant Key Stages, with a particular focus on examination classes. You will be part of a supportive and forward-thinking department that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional development.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Psychology lessons that meet curriculum and examination requirements

• Teach Psychology across KS4 and/or KS5, depending on experience

• Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, setting high expectations for achievement and behaviour

• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of learners with a range of abilities

• Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of teaching resources

• Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental goals

• Participate fully in school life, including meetings, parents' evenings, and enrichment activities

• A degree in Psychology or a closely related subject

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it

• Strong subject knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for Psychology

• Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential

• Excellent communication and organisational skills

• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
