School Maintenance Technician
Job description
Simply Education are working with their client to recruit a full-time School Maintenance Technician - to support various learning hubs across Nottingham City, South Notts, Leicester and Nanpantan. We're looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician to help keep their buildings and grounds safe, secure and well‑maintained across the multiple sites.
What You'll Do:
You'll ensure the premises are always fit for purpose by:
- Carrying out general repairs, decorating and planned maintenance
- Maintaining fixtures, fittings, equipment and the fabric of the building
- Monitoring plant, heating, ventilation and lighting systems
- Managing security, including opening/locking buildings and alarm checks
- Keeping outdoor areas tidy, safe and hazard‑free
- Supporting statutory checks such as fire alarms, emergency lighting and PAT testing
- Handling portering tasks, parcel deliveries, room setups and waste management
- Responding to emergencies and ensuring safe, clean environments
- Driving company vehicles, including minibuses, when required
What You'll Bring:
- Practical maintenance skills (basic joinery, plumbing, electrical fittings)
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety
- Ability to work independently, travel between sites and carry out physical tasks
- A proactive, hands‑on approach and pride in high quality work
Essential Requirements:
- Driving Licence and access to own vehicle
