Science Teacher - Specialist Provision
Location: Alsager, Cheshire
Salary: £120 - £145 per day
Start Date: April and September 2025 available
Contract: Full-time, Long-term contract

About the Role:

As a Science Teacher, you will play an essential role in delivering engaging and effective science lessons to students with special educational needs (SEND). You will create a supportive learning environment that helps students develop an understanding of scientific principles while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This role requires an adaptable, creative, and patient teacher who is committed to ensuring all students can access the curriculum and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging science lessons tailored to students' needs
  • Differentiate lessons to ensure accessibility for all students, including those with SEND
  • Support students in building a strong foundation in scientific knowledge, practical skills, and critical thinking
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Work closely with the team to develop personalised learning plans and interventions
  • Encourage self-confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills in students
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to support individual learning needs

Key Requirements:

  • PGCE and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Strong knowledge of science curriculum (KS3/KS4)
  • Excellent communication, behaviour management, and adaptability skills
  • Passionate about supporting students with SEND and helping them succeed
  • Previous experience working with SEND students is desirable but not essential
