Secondary Cover Teacher - Hanley, Staffordshire

£150-£200 per day (DOE)
Full-time / Part-time | Immediate & Ongoing Roles

Simply Education is looking for confident and adaptable Secondary Cover Teachers to work across a variety of supportive secondary schools in Hanley and the wider Stoke-on-Trent area. This role suits teachers, cover supervisors or instructors who are comfortable delivering a mix of lessons across KS3-KS4 using pre‑prepared work.

We have daily supply, short‑term, and long‑term roles depending on your preferences and availability.

• Secondary schools in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent
• Supportive school departments with clear routines
• General cover across a range of subjects
• KS3-KS4 mixed year groups
• Roles available due to staff absence, school development and long‑term cover needs
• Schools vary in size, culture and Ofsted rating

Start Dates & Contract Options

• Immediate roles available
• April and September starts also available
• Daily, short-term and long-term cover
• Temp‑to‑perm opportunities
• Full-time and part-time patterns considered

Hours & Working Pattern

• Monday to Friday
• Typical school day: 8:15am-3:30pm
• Part‑time options available

Salary & Pay

• £150-£200 per day
• PAYE available
• Pay based on experience and responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across different subjects
• Keep pupils on task and ensure work is completed
• Maintain behaviour and routines according to school policies
• Support students across KS3-KS4
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times
• (Long‑term placements may include basic marking and pastoral work)

Requirements

• QTS / QTLS / relevant teaching qualification or strong secondary cover experience
• Confident delivering mixed-lesson cover
• Strong classroom presence and behaviour management
• Flexible, reliable and professional
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
