The school is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated PE Teacher to join their vibrant Physical Education department. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver dynamic and engaging PE lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.

  • Plan and deliver a variety of sports and physical activities that cater to different abilities and interests.

  • Promote healthy lifestyles, wellbeing, and the importance of physical activity.

  • Organise and oversee extracurricular clubs, sports fixtures, and enrichment activities.

  • Assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment.

  • Provide constructive feedback to support student development and achievement.

  • Maintain discipline and encourage high standards of behaviour, teamwork, and punctuality.

  • Ensure safe use of equipment and facilities, adhering to health and safety guidelines.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work and innovative teaching strategies.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support student progress.

  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and the wider life of the school community.

Key Skills & Qualities

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Strong subject knowledge in Physical Education and a passion for inspiring participation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Effective classroom and behaviour management techniques.

  • Ability to motivate and engage students of varying abilities.

  • Empathy, patience, and adaptability when working with students requiring additional support.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching PE in line with the national curriculum.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

  • Experience supporting students with SEN.

  • Experience leading extracurricular sports clubs or teams.

  • Commitment to inclusive education and promoting equal opportunities in sport.
