SEMH Teaching Assistant - Sutton

Simply Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming and supportive school in Sutton.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed both in and out of the classroom.
About the Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
 - Help pupils manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop positive behaviour strategies
 - Support academic learning in line with the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
 - Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver personalised support plans
 - Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
 
What We're Looking For:
- Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school-based experience desirable)
 - A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
 - Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
 - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
 - Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
 - Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach) is an advantage but not essential
