SEN Teaching Assistant - Cambridgeshire

Location: Bar Hill, Cambridgeshire
Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time (Term Time Only)

Start Date: As soon as possible

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Cambridgeshire. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other special educational needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with autism and a range of additional needs, both in and out of the classroom
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans
  • Help to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils to support their social and emotional development
  • Provide personal care support when required

What we are looking For:

  • Proven experience working with children with autism and other special educational needs
  • A calm, empathetic and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Safeguarding Requirement:

All applicants must have an Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service). This is a mandatory requirement for the role in line with our safeguarding policies. If you do not currently hold one, we can support you through the application process.
