Job description
Simply Education are looking to recruit for a full-time experienced SENCO to join their clients brand new school opening up 2026. The new school will be nurturing, inclusive and ambitious for children aged 5-19 with ASD, SEMH needs. The school has a capacity of 96 students, and the vision is to create a safe, enriching and aspirational environment where every learner can thrive.
About the role:
As the new SENCO of the school - you will play a central role in shaping the SEND provision and ensuring every pupil's EHCP outcomes are delivered and tracked. You will be working closely with the Head of School, in addition to oversee interventions, staff training and the development of strategies that make a real difference to the pupils.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- You will manage referrals and the pre-admission process in line with their Business Development team and families
- Leading the SEND policy and provision - whilst ensuring statutory responsibilities are met.
- Preparing for and participating in annual reviews and case conferences
- Coaching staff, mentoring and driving best practice through CPD
- You will support the head of school with strategic development and school improvements
Qualifications and Experience:
- PGCE/QTS or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 year's experience as a SENCO
- Leadership experience
- Previous experience with team management
