Teacher of Business and Economics

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Start Date: September 2025

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and inspiring Teacher of Business and Economics to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum in Business and Economics, fostering an environment that supports student progress and development.​

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Implement and deliver engaging lessons that cater to a range of student abilities, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards.​
  • Student Support: Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students, providing guidance and encouragement to help them achieve their potential.​
  • Assessment and Reporting: Assess, record, and report on student attainment and progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.​
  • Resource Development: Contribute to the development of teaching materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.​
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development and participate in departmental and staff meetings.​
  • Pastoral Duties: Serve as a form tutor, supporting the personal and academic development of a designated group of students.

Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.​
  • Possess a relevant undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.​
  • Have successful teaching experience at the secondary level, including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and working with students aged 11-18.​
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment, and quality assurance processes.​
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.​
  • Show commitment to continuous professional development and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.​
