Role: Teaching Assistant - Stoke-on-Trent

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both students and teachers in creating an inclusive and productive classroom environment. You will assist with the delivery of lessons, provide one-on-one support to students who need extra help, and ensure all students have the resources and encouragement they need to succeed academically and socially.

The ideal candidate for the Teaching Assistant role will have a passion for working with children, a positive attitude, and the ability to build strong relationships with students and staff. You should be patient, adaptable, and committed to helping every student reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Support teachers in the delivery of lessons and classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with additional learning needs.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and resources.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students with personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure differentiated instruction for all students.
  • Help students develop skills in a variety of subjects, from academic to personal growth.
  • Ensure that students are engaged, motivated, and comfortable in the classroom setting.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a nurturing attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine desire to support students and help them achieve their potential.
  • A teaching assistant qualification or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
