Youth Worker / Sports Coach / Residential Support Worker - Teaching Assistant (SEMH School)

Simply Education are working in partnership with an outstanding SEMH school in Ellesmere Port to recruit a passionate people who have been Sports Coach / Youth Workers Residential Support Worker who wants to bring their skills into education and make a real difference every day.

The Role
You'll support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced trauma and benefit from a calm, consistent and nurturing approach.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll support pupils throughout the school day - both in the classroom and outside of the classroom, taking part in Forest School, outdoor learning and structured activities designed to build confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
You'll play a key part in helping pupils develop the skills they need to understand and regulate their emotions, while also supporting their learning and personal development.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups to access lessons and develop key learning skills
- Supporting outdoor learning sessions including Forest School, sports and structured activities
- Using activities to build teamwork, confidence, resilience and emotional regulation
- Helping pupils manage behaviour and emotions in a calm, supportive and consistent way
- Building strong, trusting relationships and acting as a reliable positive role model
- Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams and SEN staff to implement individual support plans
- Creating a safe, structured and encouraging environment where pupils can thrive

We're looking for someone who is:
- Calm, patient, resilient, and confident supporting challenging behaviour
- Passionate about helping young people grow emotionally, socially and academically
- Comfortable working in a structured school environment
- Interested in developing a long-term career in education
Trauma-informed experience is desirable, but not essential - full training will be provided.
