What You'll Be Doing as a Psychology Graduate TA:

  • One-to-One Behaviour & Emotional Support: Use your understanding of psychology to help students develop emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour strategies.

  • Supporting Students with SEND: Work with children who have additional needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH), applying your knowledge of child development and cognitive processes.

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging, accessible lessons and help students engage with activities and remain focused.

  • Small Group Interventions: Lead or support targeted intervention groups focusing on social skills, communication, emotional wellbeing or literacy/numeracy.

  • Observation & Progress Monitoring: Use your analytical skills to observe behaviours, track student progress and provide insights that support tailored learning plans.

  • Building Positive Relationships: Develop strong, supportive relationships with students, helping them grow academically, socially and emotionally.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field.

  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based or in the community).

  • Confidence supporting students with a range of needs.

  • A clear DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting SEN or SEMH students.

  • Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.

  • An interest in educational or child psychology.
