Our school is looking for a proactive individual who is not afraid to get stuck in with the tasks of the day. We need a person who can handle a variety of behavioural challenges but understands how rewarding it is to work with SEND learners.
Job Description: Do you have experience working in a care environment and are looking to transition into Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are seeking an individual with experience supporting an adult or child with additional needs. If you have a background in care and a passion for making a difference in the life of a child with special educational needs, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Support the learning and development of a child with special educational needs.
Assist a teacher in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Implement an individualised education plan (IEP) and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of an SEN student.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to a student.
Collaborate with a teacher, parent, and other professional to ensure the best outcomes for a student.
Proactively engage in daily tasks and activities.
Manage and respond to a variety of behavioural challenges with patience and empathy.
Requirements:
Experience working in a care environment, supporting an adult or child with additional needs.
CACHE/NVQ Level 2 qualification or higher in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
Strong communication and interpersonal skill.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting a child with special educational needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proactive attitude and willingness to engage in all aspects of school life.
Resilience and the ability to handle behavioural challenges positively.
