Our school is looking for a proactive individual who is not afraid to get stuck in with the tasks of the day. We need a person who can handle a variety of behavioural challenges but understands how rewarding it is to work with SEND learners.
Job Description:
Are you a Teaching Assistant (TA) looking to branch into Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you have an interest in special education needs, or personal experience with SEND? If so, we want to hear from you! We welcome applications from both qualified and unqualified TAs who are passionate about making a difference in the life of a child with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the learning and development of a child with special educational needs.
Assist a teacher in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Implement an individualised education plan (IEP) and adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of an SEN student.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to a student.
Collaborate with a teacher, parent, and other professional to ensure the best outcomes for a student.
Proactively engage in daily tasks and activities.
Manage and respond to a variety of behavioural challenges with patience and empathy.
Requirements:
CACHE/NVQ Level 2 qualification or higher in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
Experience working with an SEN child in a special school or mainstream setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skill.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting a child with special educational needs.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Proactive attitude and willingness to engage in all aspects of school life.
Resilience and the ability to handle behavioural challenges positively.
