Simply Education is seeking a passionate and skilled Design Technology Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in the Hanley area. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and motivated educator to deliver high‑quality DT lessons within a supportive and forward‑thinking department. The school is looking to appoint immediately and welcomes applications from experienced teachers as well as confident ECTs.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging DT lessons across KS3 and KS4, including Resistant Materials, Product Design or Graphics

• Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum requirements

• Support pupils of varying abilities to ensure strong progress and practical skill development

• Maintain a safe and well‑organised workshop environment following all health and safety procedures

• Contribute to departmental planning and collaborative curriculum development

• Provide constructive feedback to support pupil attainment

• Participate in wider school life including duties, parents' evenings and CPD opportunities

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Strong subject knowledge across Design Technology specialisms

• Ability to inspire and motivate learners through creative and practical teaching

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Confident classroom and workshop management
