HLTA - Full Time Opportunity in Colchester (April Start)

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic HLTA to join our lovely three-form entry primary school in Colchester. Our welcoming and supportive school community in Colchester is looking for a dedicated HLTA who is passionate about supporting pupils and making a real difference to their learning and development.

This full-time position will run Monday to Friday, with working hours from 8:30am until 3:30pm, starting in April. The successful HLTA will mainly be based in Year 5 and Year 6, supporting teaching and learning while helping pupils prepare for the transition to secondary school.

About the Role

In this role, you will primarily support learning in Upper Key Stage 2, while also delivering PPA cover across other year groups. You will be required to cover lessons in Year 1 and Year 2, as well as Year 3 and Year 4, providing engaging learning experiences for pupils across the school.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and training, who enjoys working with a variety of age groups and contributing to a positive school environment in Colchester.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning in Year 5 and Year 6 classes.

  • Deliver PPA cover lessons in Year 1 and Year 2, and Year 3 and Year 4.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to support pupil progress.

  • Deliver small group interventions and support whole-class learning when required.

  • Promote a positive learning environment that supports pupils' wellbeing and development.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working within education and training settings, ideally in a primary school.

  • Is confident leading learning activities and managing a classroom environment.

  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Is passionate about education and training and supporting children to reach their potential.

  • Demonstrates flexibility and enthusiasm when working across different year groups.

Pay: £95 - £100 per day
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
