Learning Mentor - Didcot

Simply Education is currently working in partnership with a warm, inclusive, and forward-thinking school in Didcot that is looking to appoint a compassionate and motivated Learning Mentor. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils who may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges, helping them to re-engage with learning and build their confidence. The role offers flexibility, with both part-time and full-time options available depending on your availability.

About the Role:

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

  • Work closely with individual pupils or small groups to offer targeted support that addresses emotional and academic needs.

  • Help children build resilience, improve their self-esteem, and develop positive behaviours for learning.

  • Liaise with teachers, support staff, and families to create and maintain tailored support plans.

  • Be a trusted adult and positive role model who pupils can rely on for guidance and encouragement.

  • Support the wider pastoral care of the school and contribute to a safe, supportive learning environment.

What We're Looking For:

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting.

  • Be passionate about helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication, relationship-building, and behaviour management skills.

  • Be patient, empathetic, and resilient.

  • Ideally have knowledge of safeguarding, SEND, or SEMH (though not essential - training is available).

Please note: All applicants must provide two years of references and complete an enhanced DBS check. The role is subject to a satisfactory background check.
