PE Teacher - Specialist Provision School, Altrincham

About the School:
We are proud to be working with a well-established specialist provision school in Altrincham, rated 'Good' by Ofsted. Catering to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, the school offers a bespoke curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of every learner. The school focuses on developing both academic skills and practical, life-based learning while fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The school is now seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher to join their dynamic team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

Role Overview:
As a PE Teacher, you will have a unique opportunity to inspire and motivate students with SEND, including those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and ADHD. You will use your passion for physical education to help students develop new skills, build confidence, and improve their overall physical and mental well-being.

Whether you're an experienced PE Teacher or an early-career teacher (ECT) looking to make a difference, this role provides excellent professional development opportunities and the chance to teach in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEND.
  • Use creative approaches to inspire participation, promote teamwork, and improve student's fitness, motor skills, and confidence.
  • Foster a positive learning environment, encouraging students to engage actively in lessons and extracurricular sports activities.
  • Support student's social and emotional development by modelling positive behaviour and promoting self-discipline.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, including SEND specialists and support staff, to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Contribute to the wider school community by organising or supporting sports events, tournaments, and extracurricular activities.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in PE.
  • A strong understanding of how to engage students with special educational needs and disabilities (experience in SEND settings is desirable but not essential).
  • A passion for physical education and a creative approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills, resilience, and patience.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training.
  • A driving licence and access to your own transport are desirable but not essential.
