The school is seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychology Teacher to join their thriving Social Sciences department. Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Psychology lessons across KS4 and KS5 in line with the national curriculum.
Plan and deliver lessons that encourage critical thinking, analysis, and application of psychological theories.
Teach a range of topics including cognitive, developmental, social, and biological psychology.
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring they are confident and well-prepared.
Assess, record, and report on student progress and attainment.
Provide constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement.
Maintain discipline and encourage high standards of behaviour, punctuality, and effort.
Support students in developing research skills, essay writing, and exam techniques.
Organise and contribute to extracurricular activities such as psychology clubs, debates, or enrichment workshops.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop schemes of work and innovative teaching strategies.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers to support student development.
Contribute to whole-school initiatives and the wider life of the school community.
Key Skills & Qualities
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong subject knowledge in Psychology and a genuine passion for exploring human behaviour.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective classroom and behaviour management techniques.
Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
Empathy, patience, and adaptability when working with students requiring additional support.
Essential Requirements
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Psychology in line with the national curriculum.
An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
Experience supporting students with SEN.
Experience leading extracurricular activities related to Psychology.
