Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary School Teacher to join welcoming and supportive schools across Hertfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who is committed to inspiring young people and creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching within your specialist subject area, supporting students' academic progress and personal development, and contributing positively to the wider life of the school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teach your specialist subject across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 where applicable)

  • Create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment for all students

  • Assess, record and report on student progress and attainment

  • Differentiate teaching to support students of varying abilities

  • Maintain strong classroom management and promote positive behaviour

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and support staff

  • Contribute to school activities, pastoral systems and professional development

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK

  • Experience teaching in a secondary school setting

  • Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management skills

  • Ability to motivate and engage secondary-aged students

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
