SEN Teaching Assistant

A vibrant primary school in Northamptonshire is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the education and development of students with special educational needs.



Role Responsibilities

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, and other learning difficulties.

  • Assist in the delivery of differentiated lessons and activities.

  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills.

  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to relevant staff.

  • Promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment.



Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
