We are looking for someone who has:
- A passion for supporting and empowering children and young people
- Ability to form positive working relationships with others.
- A calm and rational manner when dealing with challenging situations.
- Experience working with children and young people who have additional needs
including behaviour that is a barrier to their education
- Patience and understanding for students with challenging behaviour
- Confident to deliver small group and 1-to-1 activities.
- A team player who engages well with others
- A strong communicator
- A genuine interest in supporting children and young people to reach their full potential
- Energetic and hard-working.
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- A glass-half-full person, with a sense of humour and a positive outlook
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in teaching at secondary level, preferably within special needs education.
- Sound knowledge of the UK national curriculum and relevant teaching methodologies for students with SEN.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish positive relationships with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and resources.
- Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to obtain one.
