Supply Teacher - Southend-on-Sea & Surrounding Areas

Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex
Position Type: Supply / Temporary / Day-to-Day / Short-Term
Salary: Competitive daily rates, paid weekly (dependent on experience and role)

We are currently recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic Supply Teachers to work in a wide range of primary and secondary schools across Southend-on-Sea and nearby areas. This role is ideal for qualified teachers seeking flexible work, whether you are looking for occasional days, regular supply, or short-term assignments.

The Role:

As a Supply Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning during staff absences. You will be expected to confidently step into the classroom, deliver pre-planned lessons, and create a safe, engaging, and well-managed learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering lessons across a range of year groups and subjects in line with the school's curriculum

  • Following lesson plans and adapting where necessary to meet pupils' needs

  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively in accordance with school policies

  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning atmosphere

  • Supporting pupils' learning and engagement throughout the school day

  • Providing clear and constructive feedback to school staff at the end of each assignment


Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

  • Have previous experience teaching in UK primary or secondary schools (desirable)

  • Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills

  • Be flexible, adaptable, and confident working in new environments

  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one

  • Have a professional, reliable, and positive attitude
