About the Role
A specialist provision in Folkestone is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The setting supports pupils with a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and trauma-related behaviours. The role offers a varied, rewarding and meaningful opportunity to make a genuine impact on children who require consistent, nurturing support.
Students are taught within a highly therapeutic, trauma-informed environment. Each site includes specialised resources such as Thrive rooms, sensory spaces, outdoor learning areas and dedicated spaces for emotional regulation. Staff work closely with therapy professionals to ensure pupils receive a holistic and child-centred educational experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils with SEND, including SEMH and complex behavioural needs.
- Implementing personalised support plans to encourage emotional regulation and engagement.
- Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver high-quality provision.
- Providing consistency, empathy and structure throughout the school day.
- Supporting learning in both 1:1 and small group environments.
- Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning.

- Experience working with children with SEND or SEMH needs (desirable but not essential).
