About the Role

We are delighted to invite applications for the role of Maths Teacher at our successful and inclusive school in Billericay. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner to join a supportive and forward-thinking Maths department, committed to high standards of teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will teach mathematics across Key Stage 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that foster curiosity, confidence, and a genuine appreciation of mathematics. We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced teachers looking for their next professional challenge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, well-structured maths lessons that meet the needs of all learners

  • Teach across a range of abilities, ensuring appropriate challenge and support

  • Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform future planning

  • Provide clear and constructive feedback in line with school policies

  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and engagement

  • Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of the Maths department

  • Take part in departmental meetings, moderation, and collaborative planning

  • Support intervention strategies to help pupils make strong progress

  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress and attainment

  • Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and events

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve it

  • Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics education

  • Be an effective and reflective classroom practitioner

  • Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching and equality of opportunity

  • Have high expectations of themselves and their students

  • Be well organised, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Show enthusiasm for professional development and continuous improvement

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
