About the Role
We are delighted to invite applications for the role of Maths Teacher at our successful and inclusive school in Billericay. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic practitioner to join a supportive and forward-thinking Maths department, committed to high standards of teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will teach mathematics across Key Stage 3 and 4, delivering engaging lessons that foster curiosity, confidence, and a genuine appreciation of mathematics. We welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) as well as experienced teachers looking for their next professional challenge.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver high-quality, well-structured maths lessons that meet the needs of all learners
Teach across a range of abilities, ensuring appropriate challenge and support
Use a variety of assessment strategies to monitor progress and inform future planning
Provide clear and constructive feedback in line with school policies
Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and engagement
Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of the Maths department
Take part in departmental meetings, moderation, and collaborative planning
Support intervention strategies to help pupils make strong progress
Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress and attainment
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and events
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve it
Have strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics education
Be an effective and reflective classroom practitioner
Demonstrate a commitment to inclusive teaching and equality of opportunity
Have high expectations of themselves and their students
Be well organised, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team
Show enthusiasm for professional development and continuous improvement
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
