MFL Teacher - Immediate Start

Location: Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent Contract: Full‑time | Long‑term Start Date: Immediate Agency: Simply Education

Simply Education is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in the Hanley area. The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver high‑quality lessons in French, Spanish or German (depending on specialism) and inspire pupils to develop strong communication skills and cultural awareness. Applications are encouraged from both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach MFL across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and well‑structured lessons

• Cover key language skills including speaking, listening, reading and writing

• Plan, deliver and assess learning in line with curriculum expectations

• Support pupils of mixed abilities through clear explanations and differentiated tasks

• Promote cultural understanding and a positive attitude toward language learning

• Maintain a purposeful, well‑managed classroom environment

• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning

• Participate in wider school life, including duties, meetings, parents' evenings and CPD

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Strong subject knowledge in French, Spanish or German

• Ability to motivate and challenge learners through creative and structured teaching

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Confident classroom management and strong communication skills
