Science Teacher
Job description
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Teacher of Science to join our successful and supportive Science team in Epping.
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional who is passionate about delivering outstanding teaching and inspiring a love of science across Key Stage 3, GCSE, and, where appropriate, A-Level. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting high standards of achievement, fostering intellectual curiosity, and ensuring students are well prepared for further study and future careers in science-related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured Science lessons across KS3 and GCSE (with the opportunity to teach A-Level in a specialism)
* Teach across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at KS3, with a subject specialism at KS4 and potentially KS5
* Prepare students effectively for public examinations across major exam boards
* Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including high-achieving students and those requiring additional support
* Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
* Contribute to curriculum development within the Science department
* Maintain a safe, organised, and stimulating laboratory environment in line with health and safety regulations
* Support wider school initiatives and contribute to enrichment activities where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate:
* Strong subject knowledge in at least one Science discipline
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A track record of securing strong student outcomes or clear potential to do so
* Excellent classroom management skills and high expectations for behaviour and achievement
* The ability to inspire, motivate, and build positive relationships with students
* Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
