Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Technician/Teacher to join our dynamic and forward-thinking Science department. The successful candidate will support and enhance the delivery of science across all key stages, ensuring that students receive an outstanding education in a safe and well-resourced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons
  • Maintain laboratories and ensure equipment is safe and in good working order
  • Support teaching staff and students during practical experiments
  • Deliver high-quality science lessons where appropriate (if qualified to teach)
  • Maintain accurate records of stock, risk assessments, and safety protocols
  • Promote a safe and engaging learning environment for all pupils

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A relevant qualification in Science or Laboratory Technology (e.g. NVQ, BTEC, or Degree level)
  • Experience working in a school science lab or similar educational setting
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • A commitment to health and safety standards
  • (For teacher roles) QTS and experience teaching Science at secondary level
