Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Salary: £32,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: January 2026

The Role

As a Science Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3-KS4), and potentially A-Level courses for KS5 students.

  • Deliver engaging, creative, and challenging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

  • Inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.

  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback.

  • Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and departmental initiatives.

  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and a positive learning environment.

  • Support extracurricular activities, such as science clubs, competitions, and trips.


Person Specification

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • Has a strong subject knowledge in Science and a passion for teaching.

  • Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills and effective teaching strategies.

  • Can motivate students of varying abilities and foster a love of science.

  • Works well as part of a team and contributes to a collaborative school culture.

  • Is committed to professional development and continuous improvement.
