Science Teacher - Immediate Start

Location: Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent Contract: Full-time | Long-term Start Date: Immediate Agency: Simply Education

Simply Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a well‑established secondary school in the Hanley area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator to deliver high‑quality Science teaching within a supportive and forward‑thinking department. The school is looking to appoint immediately and welcomes applications from both experienced teachers and confident ECTs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well‑structured Science lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Plan, prepare and assess work in line with curriculum expectations

  • Support pupils of varying abilities to ensure strong progress for all learners

  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and create a positive, inclusive learning environment

  • Contribute to departmental planning, meetings and collaborative curriculum development

  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support pupil attainment

  • Participate in wider school life including duties, parents' evenings and CPD opportunities

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry or Physics

  • Ability to inspire and motivate secondary learners

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Confident classroom management skills
